Part-Time Evening Program

Evening courses are designed for students living in the Greater Boston area who would like to learn English part time. Courses are offered at 5 levels of proficiency. Basic English literacy is required. All courses are noncredit.

Registering for a class

1. Take the placement test.

Sign up for 1 of the English language placement tests. Your test score determines your initial course level for registration purposes. Learn how to sign up for the placement test.

2. Find courses available at your level online.

3. Register.

4. Finalize placement at the first class meeting.

Placement is finalized after an essay and oral diagnostic test are administered in the first class meeting. If your initial placement is changed, you are moved to a class at the appropriate level of proficiency or counseled out of the program if your level of proficiency does not permit placement.
